Changes at Movimiento!

Movimiento ceases to be a studio-based dance school and moves to a pop-up format from Friday May 20 2016. Classes will recommence on a rolling basis in various venues from next week onwards.
Director Bernadette Ashley is excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with local venues to bring more cultural party events, bands, and dance instructors to Townsville, as well as classes and short courses in Cuban Salsa, Rueda, Tango, Bachata, Kizomba, and more.
Saying goodbye to the studio at 205 Flinders Street East after almost five fabulous years wasn’t easy, but the ¡Hasta Luego 205! party on Saturday 14 May [see photo] was a fitting farewell, with a full house dancing to Wassa, Cry Tuff, Nomadica, DJ Monlat, Jordan Galliot, and more. We also raised over $500 for the UNHCR Ecuador Earthquake Appeal to add to the total which JCU’s Latin American Student Association has raised since the disaster.
Looking forward: party on a school night with Kallidad at Flinders Social on Thursday 23 June; and watch out for another epic party for Cinco Años de Movimiento [Five Years of Movimiento] in August!
